Controversial Comments on Goddess Lakshmi: Swami Prasad Maurya Faces FIR and Legal Trouble

Recently, Lucknow resident Ragini Rastogi filed a complaint against Swami Prasad Maurya. Now, the Lucknow police have registered a case against Swami Prasad Maurya under sections 153(a), 505(2), and IT Act 67 at the Wazirganj police station.

The National President of the National Society Party and former Cabinet Minister, Swami Prasad Maurya, is facing difficulties. Continuously making controversial statements, Swami Prasad Maurya has been booked by the Lucknow police. Swami Prasad Maurya made inappropriate comments about Goddess Lakshmi on social media. After making this comment, a case has been filed against him.

It should be noted that recently, Lucknow resident Ragini Rastogi filed a complaint against Swami Prasad Maurya. Now, the Lucknow police have registered a case against Swami Prasad Maurya under sections 153(a), 505(2), and IT Act 67 at the Wazirganj police station.

The Court Ordered

It is worth mentioning that a special court in Uttar Pradesh had ordered an investigation into former minister Swami Prasad Maurya's alleged derogatory remarks about Goddess Lakshmi and other Hindu deities on Saturday. The Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate of the MP-MLA Court, Ambareesh Kumar Srivastava, directed the Wazirganj police station to register a case against Swami Prasad Maurya and investigate the matter.

Petitioner Ragini Rastogi had filed a petition in court seeking an order to register a case against Swami Prasad Maurya for making derogatory remarks. According to the petitioner, an article was published in a newspaper on November 15, 2023, in which Swami Prasad Maurya's statement was published under the headline "How can Lakshmi be born with four hands?" The petitioner alleged that Swami Prasad Maurya's statement had hurt the sentiments of millions of people who believe in Hinduism.

The petition also alleged that Swami Prasad Maurya had insulted Hinduism several times before by making derogatory statements. Swami Prasad Maurya recently resigned from the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the membership of the Legislative Council to form his own political party.
