The Global Water Crisis: A Looming Threat

On World Water Day we discuss that water is an important element in our lives, and It is under immense pressure due to numerous factors, including population growth, urbanization, climate change, global warming, and unsustainable water management practices. According to the United Nations, more than 2 billion people worldwide lack access to clean and safe drinking water, while around 4.5 billion lack safely managed sanitation services.

One of the most alarming aspects of the global water crisis is the dwindling availability of freshwater resources. Our world is gifted with many natural treasures some of them are our freshwater lakes, rivers, and ponds but unfortunately, some regions do not have all these resources and they are suffering from the water crisis. The World Bank predicts that by 2050, water scarcity could affect as many as 5 billion people, with consequences ranging from food insecurity to conflict over dwindling water supplies.

Some industrial activity is also responsible for this, they pollute those areas where nature naturally provides fresh water. Companies dump their waste in freshwater bodies and pollute drinkable water.
