The members of the pilot team of Air India Express have decided to end their strike and return to work. This decision comes after assurances to address the issues raised by the pilot team management. Meanwhile, the airline has agreed to withdraw dismissal letters for 25 members of the pilot team. The Tata Group-owned airline has cancelled 170 flights since Tuesday night.
Pilots on Sick Leave:
Following information of a purported ‘sick’ status among a section of the pilot team in protest against alleged mismanagement in the airline, Air India Express cancelled flights. During a conciliatory meeting between representatives of the pilot team and airline officials at the office of the Chief Labour Commissioner (Central) in the national capital on Thursday, an agreement was reached to end the strike and withdraw dismissal letters.
Passengers Express Anger:
Passengers intending to travel to other countries from various airports in Kerala expressed frustration on Thursday as Air India Express flights continued to be cancelled for the second consecutive day.
Disappointment gripped passengers at airports in Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, and Kannur when flights to Gulf countries were suddenly cancelled at the last minute for the second consecutive day. The abrupt cancellations have left passengers extremely annoyed and grappling with significant inconvenience.
